It’s more than 50 years old! WWOOF began in 1971 as one of the world’s first educational and cultural exchange programs, with a mission to offer people accessible, hands-on education on organic farms.
Since the very beginning, local non-profit WWOOF organizations in each country have supported sustainable agricultural projects, assisted established and aspiring organic farmers, and organized initiatives to promote agroecology.
Our commitment to quality: Thoughtfully selected hosts to ensure meaningful experiences.
WWOOF organizations take membership experiences seriously and have an in-depth host approval process in place.
Local staff available: Coordinators & team members offering support to hosts and WWOOFers.
WWOOF organizations have local staff available who are knowledgeable about their own country and can best provide efficient assistance to their members, answer their questions, and support them in any possible way.
Decentralized network: Our community is a nonprofit network with grassroots engagement.
WWOOF is an international network built by active local groups of like-minded people with similar philosophies and non-profit values.
By joining WWOOF, you will become part of this thriving grassroots community, where you can connect with organic farmers and growers, arrange your WWOOF visits, and acquire practical farming skills.
