Yes, it is your responsibility to be properly insured for WWOOFing activities when joining as a WWOOFer. We encourage all WWOOFers to have travel insurance that includes medical coverage, in case of illness, accidents, or other unexpected issues while traveling. In some countries, hosts may ask to see proof of insurance when WWOOFers arrive.
In addition, please consider adding liability insurance in case you unwillingly damage a third party's property or injure a person while WWOOFing, and personal accident insurance in case you suffer yourself an injury by accident.
If you already have insurance, it is your responsibility to check that it will cover your activities while participating in WWOOF and to do additional research on other options if you need extra coverage.

Optional add-on insurances
WWOOF USA allows WWOOFers to purchase travel and medical insurance as an add-on to their membership. This insurance can be purchased along with the membership fee and is valid for a period of 12 months.
