It’s common to receive a large number of messages, especially during the summer or peak growing season. Out of respect for WWOOFers, and as outlined in the WWOOF Charter, you are required to reply to all messages.
That said, there are a few easy ways to help reduce the number of messages you receive:
-
Add a note to your profile description
At the top of your profile description, add a sentence such as:
"We are full from [date] to [date]; please do not contact us for these dates."
-
Confirm all visits properly
When you agree to host someone, make sure you click "Accept" on their request and remind the WWOOFer to "Confirm" it.
Once confirmed, your calendar will display those dates in orange, indicating to others that you have a confirmed WWOOF visit then and helping to reduce new requests for that period.
-
Update your availability calendar
If you are full for an entire month, simply uncheck that month on your calendar (for example, uncheck "July").
Your profile won’t appear to WWOOFers looking for an available host during that month.
Remember, however, to reactivate those months for the following year!
-
Temporarily hide your profile
If you need a break from messages altogether, you can hide your host profile for a short time.
